At downtown grill, in the heart of historic downtown Macon, charm and flavor are always on the menu. Since 1930, the nineteenth century brick building on Mulberry Street Lane has housed various restaurants, all leading up to the 1997 birth of the downtown grill. The exposed brick and deep leather accents resemble the interior of an English steakhouse, and indeed, specialties include prime cut Black Angus steaks, Veal Parmesan, and a house-favorite, Bouillabaisse.
Proprietor since 2008, Richie Jones, donning his favorite bowtie, shares his acquired knowledge of the over 125 bourbons and a variety of whiskeys and spirits. As we often return to our roots, Richie and his father enjoy a foundation in bourbon, so downtown grill is like home. Guests are welcome to grab their drinks and enjoy a cigar at the large bar which boasts a humidor with cigar lockers for customers to store their stash of stogies.
The downtown grill accommodates private functions and parties with room for 50 in its private banquet room or charming 16-person private dining room. Enjoy an intimate, delicious and unique experience at downtown grill.
