From modest beginnings in a single rented room to a state-of-the-art 50,000-square foot facility on a 17acre campus, the Museum of Arts and Sciences (MAS) represents more than a half-century of phenomenal community investment in education.
The MAS was founded with a vision to create a center of academic excellence that would celebrate the intersection of arts and sciences. That intersection would be explored through hands-on activities, stimulating curiosity, and instilling a passion for lifelong learning in all those who visit the Museum. That founding vision has evolved over the MAS’ 60-year history, into the regional cultural asset we all enjoy today – one of Georgia’s finest nationally accredited museums.
Visitors are invited to view regularly changing art and science exhibitions along with daily planetarium and live animal shows. Ignite imaginations in the 3-floor interactive Discovery House or visit with animals in the Mini-Zoo. The Museum’s nature trails, open pavilion with aviaries, and flighted bird shows offer a breath of fresh air outside on the Museum’s campus. Visit the MAS today and explore more!
